HEARTBEATZ UK
Teaching CPR through music
HeartBeatz UK is an innovative charity with the aim of teaching cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to junior school children, teachers and parents using music to aid learning. Our combination of a practical session with specially written music helps makes learning memorable, fun and interactive.

ABOUT HEARTBEATZ UK
Who are HeartBeatz UK
HeartBeatz UK was founded in 2017 with the aim of teaching children and their carers essential basic life support skills.
In the UK the survival rate of an out of hospital cardiac arrest is only 8.6%. For every minute that passes without CPR or defibrillation survival rates drop by around 10%. In countries where CPR and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training is widespread survival rates have been reports as up to 40%.
We believe everyone should have the opportunity to learn CPR and that by training people in CPR the national survival rates from cardiac arrest will improve. We hope that by teaching junior school children CPR this essential life skill will become ingrained and instinctive by the time they reach adulthood.

HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?

SCHOOLS
HeartBeatz UK focuses our teaching on children in key stage 2. We can additionally offer sessions for teachers and parents if required.

VOLUNTEERING
Do you have the skills to help us teach CPR? We are always looking for new volunteers to help us spread this teaching to as many schools as possible. We are also keen for help with administration, IT support and promotion of the charity. If you are able to help in any way please contact us on info@heartbeatzuk.org.uk

FUNDRAISING
We provide our CPR teaching days to each school for free, asking only for them to provide lunch for our volunteers. All our volunteers are unpaid, and generously teach in their spare time. We would very much like to be able to refund our volunteers travel costs, and additionally require funds for teaching equipment and for the day to day running costs of the charity. Any help with fundraising is very gratefully received.
